There’s No Place Like
Final show of PAS with Johannes Deimling, organized in collaboration with K-Salon Gallery, Berlin, 2009. Length: 1 hour.

This piece is part of a work in progress called “Home-Less”. The performance revolves around the ideas of travel, isolation and dissociation.
There are 2 pairs of shoes, each in opposite sides of the room. In the back there is a big vacuum cleaner. I enter the space with no shoes on, wearing only white socks and a black dress that I gather up with my hands. I stare directly at the audience for a while and I let my skirt fall open; 200 pieces of little candy bears fall out of it.
One by one, I start placing the candy on the wall forming the word “HOME” with them. Every time I put one piece on the wall I change my shoes. Thus, at some point, I start losing my sense of order and I confuse the place of the shoes. After a long time the word is finally completed. Once it’s done I vacuum it all. Then I open the vacuum cleaner and with the same candy bears I used earlier I write the word “LESS” on the floor. I take off the shoes, remove my white socks and leave.
